pink peplum top flat loafers vacation outfit ideas

Caslon peplum top xs petite, cat eye sunglasses in “nude” ($14!)  M.Gemi loafers 35.5, ASOS maternity shorts 2P (also in regular), purse + headband (get a Prime free trial – addictive!!)

I hope you guys are enjoying a wonderful long weekend with family and friends! Nick and I are recovering from jet lag, and getting our fill of Asian food after nearly two weeks of pasta, pizza, and gelato (no complaints, though!). I wanted to share a few updated holiday sales (most ending today) in addition to my big sale roundup post!

My outfit pictured directly above is not on sale, but every piece (except the loafers) is very affordable, so I wanted to share while sizes were still in stock. This peplum tee is cool and lightweight for summer with a little more length in the back. Fit is TTS, but I sized up so it would flow better over my growing chest and belly. These maternity white denim shorts are going to be staples for me over summer, but note they do run *quite* short, so in hindsight I should’ve tried the regular sizing for a little more length (they also comes in “tall”) . PS – did you get a good laugh at the windy outtake for this photo? ; )

White House Black Market

The deal: A rare 30% off your entire purchase (code 75159), with free shipping & returns on petite items.
Shop their petite new arrivals here (lots of office-appropriate pieces) and petite sale section here. I find their sizing to be pretty true to size, sometimes smaller and better-fitting than AT/BR. My mom’s maxi dress (packs & travels very well with no wrinkles) looks temporarily sold out in petites, but is still availalbe in XXS regular and up – for reference, she’s about 5’2″ and wearing XS petite.

On me: tiered ruffle dress XXSP c/o (2 colors, Janessa Leone hat sz S, Sam Edelman shoes sz 5.5

H&M

The deal: Get up to 30% off your purchase (buy more, save more) with free shipping!
Shop new arrivals – they have a very affordable maternity section, adorable baby & kids clothes, and cute swimwear! My favorite maternity lounging leggings (only $13 and the length is perfect on petites) are still available in all sizes. Reposting this pic of how they fit on me:

H&M maternity 3/4 leggings sz XS, Gibson fleece top xxs petite (runs short; see my review), Sam Edelman flats sz 5 (updated version), marble iPhone case

LOFT

The deal: 40% off full-priced items, extra 50% off sale, + free shipping on ALL orders! Code SURPRISE.
Shop petite new arrivalsmaternity (both petite & regular!), and affordable shoes starting in sz 5 (online only)! I find a lot of their petite normal pieces to be maternity-friendly just due to the flowier cuts or elasticized waists. With the exception of pants, I haven’t had to buy much maternity-specific items.

See my recent post on LOFT petite, and my reviews on LOFT maternity jeans + maternity pants.

Talbots

The deal: Extra 40% off 1 sale item, or extra 50% off 2 or more sale items.
Shop all sale items here! You can filter by your size for clothing (starts in 0P & runs a little big) or my preferred department – accessories & shoes (starts in sz 5). Pre-pregnancy, I could usually wear their stretchy knits in size petite P just fine, but bottoms and blazers in numerical sizing would be big without alterations. Here’s some picks with good customer reviews:

Banana Republic

The deal: 40% off with BRSUMMER and free 3-5 day ship with BRSHIP.
See my recent BR posts here & here. Don’t forget to check out their staple Sloan pants + work pumps!

H&M deals? I’m so on! I find that their smallest sizes actually sometimes fit me, unlike other stores where the tiniest size would still be too big!! 🙂

    Jean,

Can you recommend any petite-friendly anoraks? I’m 5’1 and all the anoraks I’ve tried are way too long in the sleeves. I have a trench raincoat (that I’ve altered) but I’m looking for a cute summer anorak. Love your blog!

Hi Hilary! Unfortunately that’s something I don’t have much try-on experience with so can’t be of much help. I usually just wear my Boden rainy day mac (love their colorful prints) which comes in petite, but I also had to alter it to fit a little better.

Wow Jean, such beautiful photos. I especially like the one with you and your mum. You both look stunning and I adore the dresses the two of you are wearing. It must have been so special spending holidays together with your mum. Cherish these moments. In a few months the whole mum-daughter relationship will get another dimension for you! Love, Lieske

Thanks for including your mom in your posts! I would love to see more of what she wears. You are both adorable! I am 60 and 4’11”. I struggle with knowing what is now appropriate and in petite proportions.

Thank you, Leslie! I’m trying to get her to make more appearances on here so I appreciate the encouragement ; )

Your lovely Mother , who looks more like your sister , wears the maxi dress so well . I also love the tiered dress you have on .

Hello Jean, I enjoyed your pictures in Positano! It’s so beautiful and I feel like wanting to go on a vacation ASAP. I noticed your Sam Edelman nude heels and I was wondering if the color/material you picked was a Classic Nude or an Oatmeal Suede? Some nudes don’t match up well with my skin tone especially when it’s too light but I am also interested to know how you pick suitable nude colored footwear for yourself.

    • Reply Jean | Extra Petite May 30, 2018 at 8:09 pm

Hi Niny! It’s the classic nude. I tried on both and thought the Oatmeal suede looked more expensive (I’m partial to suede), but having so many suede shoes I also know suede is harder to clean and maintain. So for that reason I went with the classic nude which is a smooth leather. I’m not too picky with nudes as I don’t mind a shade or two off, as long as it’s in a similar hue!

I was wondering where you got your specific headband? The link you provided on Amazon doesn’t show your pink floral one you have on. Do you think that type just got sold out? Btw love your website you have inspired the fashionista in me 🙂

    • Reply Jean | Extra Petite June 14, 2018 at 12:55 pm

Thanks for the kind words! It’s from that link, however when I purchased they don’t let you choose a color, so it’s hit or miss what you’ll receive!
