J.Crew Sale Update: Online Factory bargains under $13

**ASOS sale alert: the striking blue peplum dress I reviewed is 40% off w/ free ship & returns. I loved mine too much to return it, but it needed a hem for sure. The slit is also closeable by a tailor or if you sew.**

Per an anonymous tip (thank you!), the extra 30% off sale code works on J.Crew Factory items as well (MUSTHAVE good til 4/20). I was bored in class and decided to take a peek on my phone...and couldn't believe the stock and prices! Any of the below would make a cute affordable gift for Mom, a sister, or girlfriend. Don't forget to go through ebates (referral, see my post on how to use it) for another 6% cash back...the rate is usually 2 or 3%!
Prices after promos - Pouchette: $12.83, Scarf: $8.22, Bracelet: $6.58, Belt: $6.58 sold out

Some notes:
- If you can wear regular sizing...there are some classic J.Crew-looking pieces at amazing price points. Navy tweed pencil skirt for $17? Silk camp blouse for $24? Remember that you can ask livechat for exact measurements for a certain item and size.

- You can combine your Factory order with the regular store to meet the $175 minimum for free ship.

- Factory orders can ONLY be returned via mail or to Factory stores. Mail is definitely easier for me. I already plan on using the pre-paid return shipping label (costs $5.95 to mail back 1 item, $7.50 to mail back 2 or more items) from my regular store order yesterday, and customer service told me I can just add on Factory returns into the same package at no additional cost. Beware of final sale items.

- If you're extra petite, the little girls Factory section has some adorable summer shorts for free shipping w/ no minimum. I saw gingham, seersucker, and paisley all for ~under $25 after promos. Was very tempted to get the blue gingham shorts, but don't love the back pockets.

- Don't forget your men! I picked Nick up the gingham shirt below (many different colors and sizes of men's gingham to choose from).

Here are some stuff that was in my cart (including Mom and Nick's picks) before we carefully weeded out half of it. I just wanted to show some of the price points and variety available, though:
Update: See SewPetiteGal's J.Crew Factory review on some items. I want to emphasize again to please obtain measurements of items from online customer service to avoid sizing disappointment. J.Crew Factory womens clothing (especially since their Factory line starts at XS and not XXS, 0 and not 00) will usually not fit extra petite women. For example, customer service gave me the following measurements for the tweed pencil skirt in 0: "waist circumference is 29.5 inches. The hip circumference is 36.75 inches. The length is 21 inches."

Happy shopping!

  2. I never shop at J Crew...anyone know how their sizing compares to Ann Taylor or Banana Republic? Thanks!

    1. I would say similar, maybe a smidge bigger. One good thing about J.Crew is that their online customer service (via livechat or if you call the #) will give you exact measurements for any size and item #. I use this service every time when shopping online!

  19. Hello! I love your site! Thank you so much for sharing all these wonderful deals :)

I know that your site is geared towards petites, but I absolutely loveee the blue peplum asos dress you purchased earlier and would like to get one of my own; however, only see this available for petites. I'm about 5"5' and was wondering if you would know what size would be equivalent to a US size 4 (similar to H&M sizing). I'm tempted to size one up and just go ahead and purchase this dress since I love it so much.

    1. Tiffany,

I would order a US size 4 and 6. Since shipping returns are free, you can always send back the one that doesn't fit. For reference, Jean bought a US size 1. I purchased a US size 2. It fits like a H&M size 2. I think this dress runs small. I am five feet and weigh 95 pounds (about the same size as Jean) but I had a baby a few months ago so I am a bit curvier. :) I think you should purchase the next two sizes up and return the one that doesn't fit. :)

    2. Hi Tiffany - since you're 5'5" the dress might hit a little high on you in the waist line and peplum area because it's a petite size. I agree with anon on what sizes you should try if you're usually a US size 4. I'm usually an H&M size 2 and the US size 1 fit perfectly/snugly. With their free returns, it doesn't hurt to try two sizes, just make sure to keep everything in the original condition in terms of tags and packaging.

Anon - thanks so much for helping out and offering your opinion. Such a caring & sharing community : )

    3. Anon and Jean- Thank you so much for the wonderful advice. I am going to go ahead and purchase two sizes just to be safe and see from there. You both are super caring bloggers and am very happy to see how everyone is so helpful with sharing advice amongst this blog :)

  20. I was eyeing that bracelet in stores but couldn't justify the full price. It is an amazing fitting bracelet.... quite small, so if you like the one color that's left, I'd snatch it up. I'm going to check in stores to see if it's on sale.

  21. Ohhh that scarf looks gorgeous! I perused the site yesterday but didn't see anything that appealed to me. I might need to find a bit more time to look thoroughly.

  22. Can you explain more regarding Ebates? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Basically, you go to ebates.com and type in the website you'd like to shop at. You click through their website and earn a percentage back for each order. If you buy something at J. Crew through ebates, you will get 3% back for what you spent. I've been using ebates for years and have gotten over $300 back.

  27. Hi Jean,

Thanks for the great tips! Just made my epic purchase last night. I am a fellow CFA Level III candidate working in the investment industry. I admire how you can manage work, blogging and study so well. How do you manage your time during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays?I find it hard to focus during the week after work so any advice would be a great help!

    1. Hi Phoebes! I completely feel you...I actually can't study at all after work, so here's two ways I've been catching up otherwise:
      - waking up a few hours earlier and going into the office to study before work. I am not a morning person at ALL, but since it's not possible to study after work these days, I've had to force some time in before work.
      - going into work on Sat & Sun as if they were regular work days to study. Again, not a morning person and I usually love my weekend sleep dearly...but I feel if you get into this rhythm, then it's easier to keep up.
All the best to you in your studies! The date is creeping up on us : )
