From my past orders, the clothing in petite sizing has been much too big, the shoes have been great quality but with slightly inconsistent sizing, and the costume jewelry has been hit or miss in terms of quality (some nice and heavy, some cheaper metals).

ReplyDeleteAwesome promo! I'm trying Talbots shoes for the first time. I grabbed the Skyla pumps in teal. I have extremely narrow feet, so we'll see how their narrows do. It seems that most brands that make that width think that only elderly women wear them, so I am super excited about cute shoes in a fun color.

ReplyDeleteI picked up a pair of pants for $10 (Signature Fit Garment-dyed twill crops). We'll just have to see whether the 0P ends up being small enough. I toyed with the idea of getting the suede tank (down to $34 from $229), but realized I had no idea how I'd wear something like that.

ReplyDeleteI saw those too and I don't know of other brands that have a similar style right now. I did try the Ivanka Trump leopard pumps recommended by some other ladies, but the leather was stiff and painful for me and the heels were higher than what I'm used to. Those were about $80 on sale.
DeleteAre they generally true to size? I've never bought shoes online from Talbots. My insole is 9" and I'll probably go with sz 6. Hopefully it will fit :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can try on some shoes in-store before ordering online. I don't know when this code ends. If you order two sizes, you can also return the one that doesn't fit in-store (as long as it's not a style that's on final sale).

Boiled wool jacket in VIXEN (Love the color which is now sold out. Jacket is very thin, and edges are stitched rather than hemmed. But it's not that noticeable on a dark color. The 0P fit well, although the sleeves are a tiny bit long. No buttons on the sleeves, so these would be easy to hem.)

I was able to purchase two pairs of stylish narrow shoes (difficult to come by) for a great price (narrow shoes tend to be more expensive and less likely on sale). Your post saved me quite a bit of money and allowed me to finally add some much needed shoes to my work wardrobe.

Looking at Talbots next! Btw, I don't usually like to shop at Express BUT their sleek fit silk shirts are fantastic and only $23.99 from $79.90 thru tomorrow. They run a full size small, so a XS should fit a petite frame. I picked up 3 colors to wear under blazers and my J Crew sequin tanks! They're available online.

Did I tell you there was a Talbots in the Temecula mall, where I'm from. Then one day, during one of these sales, i went in to see mb if i can buy some jewelry or a belt, and bam!!!! replaced with some comic store. Very sad, bc I actually don't think there's a Talbots store in SD county even.

I just submitted an order yesterday with the promo code, and checked my credit card today only to find TWO pending charges from Talbots instead of one. I contacted customer service and apparently the promo code is customer specific and did not apply to my order, thus they charged me additionally without my consent or knowledge. I'm trying to fix the issue right now with customer service, but wanted to give everyone a heads up in case you're charged for twice the price you think you paid!

ReplyDeleteYes, please check your credit card charges. I was also charged two additional amounts after my initial order because the code was apparently customer-specific, and was not to be shared, so they added back the 40% I initially saved. The upsetting part was that I was not notified of the additional charge, and only found out because I check my credit card statement and called their customer service. They were nice enough to honor the code this time, but I think they might get more strict with codes in the future...
