My rec: I thought my leopard pump search ended with the Mad Men pumps from this post, however the size 5's that arrived were too tight. When I went to look for a 5.5, I stumbled upon these Calvin Klein Elara Pumps and got them instead. I was uncertain about the chunkier heel, but it makes the shoe sturdier and easier to walk in outdoors. Although the Mad Men colors were unique, the classic camel combo here can’t be beat. A sz 5 fits me the same way Ann Taylor 5's do. I'm wearing them today with my AT lace skirt:

  3. thanks for sharing this, jean. i've been eyeing a few things on piperlime so this came at the perfect time.

those pumps look nice and i agree about the shoe being sturdier with the chunkier heel (this comes from first hand experience). lol. would've liked to see your whole outfit cause it sounds very chic. ;)

  7. Is the first pic from a future post? I can't wait to see it...I already stalked your Goyard reveal on tpf and can't get enough. With Chanel on a price hike rampage I think it's good that both of us moved on from it. ;)

  8. Thanks for sharing. I bought Lucky Brand flats in rose cream (#869058). I'm hoping they'll be more of a nude color that I can wear with dark skinny jeans. I haven't had much luck finding a nice pair of nude flats, especially at a decent price.

I almost bought the Jack by BB Dakota lace skirt (#858132), but it was final sale (20% does not apply) and the reviews scared me away. It apparently runs small, but if you're petite, then it may work as a short, high-waisted skirt.

  9. I like these CK pumps a lot better. The BR colors looked too Halloweeny.

  10. I love those! I can't bring myself to wear patterns though. I've always wanted to, but just don't think it suits me >_< But now I may just have to try those.. they are too cute not to!

Anyway, I love piperlime! Free shipping and return... nothing beats that!
You can also use a cash back credit card to get an even better deal.. I think chase card is 5%...

    Anyway, great post!

  12. Hi Jean! I have been following your blog daily since I found it this summer! Awesome & addictive (= This is the first time I've commented. I wish I knew how to comment without being anonymous lol. Anyway I ordered the Desert boot in beeswax for my DH from Piperlime (it is exactly like Nick's Mali book except shorter & a little less expensive.) BR carries the same style but they're out of most sizes online.
I followed the advice of online reviews & order 1/2 size down. Did Nick find the boots to run large? Thanks again for the awesome blog!

  13. Jean, you stroll in style! I decided to try Nine West Ambitious pumps in patent taupe. Reviews said they ran small and no wooden heel either. Hoping they fit and match my skin tone...

  21. @myhanh Good eye, Myhanh ; ) It's a slightly different bag though. I'll do a work bag post soon!

@lin I tested the pumps out outdoors, and the chunky heel was amazingly easier to walk in than thin ones! Plus I got to snap a photo to fulfill your request : )

@Janay Pretty skirt, tempting price, but not so tempting final sale. Now that we're moving into Winter, I think you made the right choice. Hope your flats work out for ya!

@Anonymous Thank you! Your DH is a lucky guy to have you shopping for him. Nick says yes the desert boots run half size big. It must be like that across many different brands! I hope he likes them!

@R.L. There's a lot of NW Ambitious love from fellow bloggers. Keep us posted on how they work out.

@JJ I didn't even realize Piperlime went down to sz 4. Great find!

@Anonymous @megan alissa design Thank you, ShyMiss and Megan for the sale alert! Retailers seem to be going nuts with promos now that it's nearing the holidays.

  22. Jean,

What's your opinion on leopard print heels in an office environment? I think that they can be paired with an outfit, as in your photo example, to look very classy and business appropriate, but I'm worried that others might find them too racy for the work place. What do you think?

  23. Hi Jean, sorry to be a bother, but I clicked on Piperlime's home page, saw my code, and didn't bother to save it. Now I'm going back on the homepage and the link isn't there anymore! Has the code expired?

Thanks for your help, discounts in buying shoes is always needed!

  24. @e.p. Oh no! I believe it was one day only : (

@Anonymous Probably not suggested for law or banking or other conservative environments where a full suit is required, but I think it's perfectly acceptable in other business environments if you pair it with black, and tasteful pieces like a sheath dress or pencil skirt : ) Also as long as the heel isn't too high - my threshold is around 3.5" - sometimes I push it to 4.

  25. hey Jean have you seen this from nordstorm? it's recently on sale too with both sizes 5 and 5.5! http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ivanka-trump-pinkish-platform-pump/3182747?origin=category&resultback=1024

  26. @AnonymousOmigosh - I've been looking at those pumps on several websites but thought it was a little pricey, plus never in a small size. Thank you for the link! I had a Nordies gift card and just pulled the trigger. Other sites say the heel is over 4" but Nordies says less. I shall have to see once they arrive.
