Banana Republic 4th of July Sale Picks

Independence Day sales have been rolling into my inbox. The discounts are steep, but sale offerings seem lackluster across the board. Usual petite faves Ann Taylor & LOFT are having 40% off their entire stores this weekend, and 50% off everything at the AT outlet (been loving it this year!).

Banana Republic is having another 40% off sale items w/ code BRSTARS, but talk about a lackluster selection! I couldn't find a single share-worthy clothing item in the sale area, however, I do like BR for the following reasons:
- They're brave enough to allow user reviews on their site (I steer clear of things under w/3 stars)
- They have free ship over $50, all day every day, and 2% cash back via ebates.
- They have genuine leather, neutral (and textured!) heels in size 5+ right now on sale w/ great reviews:
Pamela Slingback ($30), Pinball Necklace ($12, reminds me of my Talbots one), XIomara Pumps ($48)

PS - In the realm of regular prices, anyone else loving the Stella Lace Dress? I'm drawn to the tee-shirt dress cut. Picture it in Fall with boots, scarves, blazers - yum! It'd also be a great candidate for the dress worn as a top or skirt.

  1. I've had my eye on the Pamela pump (in snakeskin) for a while now and just pulled the trigger. Thanks for the reminder! :)

  2. Banana Republic has definitely been disappointing with their recent garment additions. I check their site regularly for updates because of how fast their petite styles sell out, but nothing has caught my eye lately (with the exception of the classic trench). Here's hoping they ease into a nice fall collection.

  3. I must say, BR shoes are absolutely amazing. They're super comfortable. I've bought a few pairs from here and I have nothing but good things to say. I wear them all the time for hours on end, recently wearing them for a wedding I was in.. 9am-12am :D

  4. Hi Jean,

I've been following your blog for a while and love it! I was hoping you might do a blog entry on cold weather gear. I've only lived in warm weather climates (Florida, California) but am moving to Chicago in a month and haven't the slightest clue how to dress. Do you have any suggestions on outwear picks for petites?

    Thanks!
    Sonha
