A good day for the H&M pleated skirt

Today was a good day for this ole' H&M pleated skirt...it enjoyed some fun face time around the web. Click here for LOFT's Facebook album, and here to read the Glamour.com article. To see tip #3 in action, check out Callandra.

  2. Wow! :) I can see why you were featured on those sites! This look is amazing. I'm definitely not sick of that shirt. It's so versatile - enough to inspire me to try to make as many outfits as I can with one article of clothing.

  4. Lovely look. You have a very flattering petite figure. OTOH, I am a petite with bulky calves, so no skirt w/o tights for me :p

  6. Aw, Jean. Congratulations on being featured in Glamour online! You look fantastic. That skirt is truly a gem. I still can't get over how beautiful the color is. And you could say that this is the best pleated A-line skirt I have ever seen on petites. oh, I'm glad you found another piece from Loft that you'll wear to shreds. The lace top is truly versatile and looks amazing on you! Happy weekend, Jean.

  7. I heard about your blog through Glamour so I came to check it out. I am glad I did, you have terrific sense of style and I like how you style the same pieces different ways. I too am petite and often struggle to find the right proportions to fit my figure.

  14. Ahh! congrats on your feature! If I had a shirt that I liked and would wear constantly I'd literally go and buy all the colors available! :P

  15. It's so funny that people on LOFT facebook asked more about your skirt than your top lol.

I love your skirt, too. Please recycle it with other top. I would like to see how you transform this favorite piece.

  16. Great article Jean and thanks so much for the shout out! Ever since I first saw you in this H&M skirt I've been on the look out for one. I've seen some on e-bay but only in a size 4.....which might actually work for me if you're wearing the size 2? Do you care to measure the waist straight across for me?....just if you get a chance sometime. Thank u so much!!

  18. Came over from the Glamour link - and I love this blog! You have size 5.5 feet! It's been so bumming me out that a lot of makers have gotten rid of the 5.5 - the 5 or the 6 rarely do! You're lovely with great style and it's so nice to see someone cover fashion for real-life tiny girls. Wore my 14 slim girls jeans all through h.s.

  19. Thank you SO much for your support, everyone!

Callandra - mine measures 12.5" across the waist. Good luck hunting down a pleated skirt for yourself! I know you'll style it fabulously.

Carla Kree - yes it is hard to find cute 5.5's, but I can't complain because there are ladies (and fellow bloggers) out there with teensy sz 3 or 4 feet. I feel lucky in comparison to have the selection that we do!

  20. Wow, congratulations Jean :) I'm so glad they featured you - and I can see why! I LOVE your sense of style. So feminine ;) Still trying to grow out of my desire to "tomboy" it sometimes ;)

  21. Oh, totally - my mother wore a 4.5 and my grandmother had 6AA, extra narrow. Definitely been grateful for a medium width.

  24. Your tips in the Glamour article are absolute genius. I have a knee-length flouncy denim skirt that I've had since Junior High — that's about 6 years — and always struggled to wear because it makes me look short. Yesterday, I took the exact top I usually pair with the skirt, but tucked it in and added a belt. Completely transformed the outfit, a million times better. I think the skirt will probably become one of my most-worn items now. Thanks so much!

  25. LOVE this outfit! I must say I was also initially drawn to the skirt...I wish it was still in stores! I have that top too - I bought it at my local Loft store, even though it says online exclusive!

  26. That skirt is so genius. I don't know if I could ever get myself to wear a knee length skirt, but when it's worn so beautifully, like you've done here, I keep getting the cogs in my head turning.

I want to shop again. But it's June, which means my shopping ban is back on. :(

Thanks for your sweet comment on my site. I don't try to be edgy, but it just happens. Nonetheless, I'm glad someone whose style I respect, thinks my own style statement is good. :)
