Cardigan: J.Crew sz XS
Floral Blouse: LOFT sz XXSP (similar here)
Wool Pencil Skirt: Ann Taylor vintage sz 2, altered
Suede Booties: Adrienne Vittadini "Adam" (buy here on sale)
I know a few other petite bloggers have this blouse, but had trouble finding the posts. If you've blogged about this blouse, please feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below!
While at LOFT last week, I actually fell in love with something (rare). The stretchy knit "scuba" material is back in the form of a cropped blazer with 3/4 length sleeves. I love the versatile caramel color. Unlike other LOFT blazers I've tried on...the fit was near-perfect on me (I prefer the sleeves folded up in a cuff) and just look at the flattering, fitted back view!
LOFT Cropped Scuba Blazer, sz 00P
I also gravitated toward a lightweight button-up blouse in a light dusty lavender (not shown). My size was already gone so I tried on this pink color, which I'm not a fan of at all. I included these photos only to show how narrow the shoulders are and how slim the overall fit is. The sleeves were also a perfect length on me. This would look great tucked in and is a feminine alternative to stuffier button-up dress shirts.

The color I want (dusty lavender) is in-stores but not yet online!
I will be keeping an eye out for both items when the next big LOFT sale hits!
Readers - do you also love adding florals and brights to beat the winter blues?

What a cute outfit Jean! And totally waiting for that camel jacket! I can't believe it's all sold out online already:(
ReplyDeletethe floral blouse looks gorgeous on you and i love all the pretty bright colors! i love the LOFT Scuba Blazer on you and will have to see if my stores will still have it once it goes on sale. and thanks for modeling the hidden placket shirt. the fit looks ideal for petites!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you worked in so many colors to create the outfit and it looked so effortless!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly which Loft shirt you are talking about. I am eying the exact same shirt. Maybe next time I go into Loft I will try it on and take a picture. I didn't see the camel jacket you tried on. Love the fit.
I love the colours used, Jean! Reminds me of the springtime : )
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors, and you look lovely as always.

Such a vibrant outfit! I looked for that blouse at my LOFT last weekend, but sadly no small sizes left. My LOFT doesn't carry that scuba blazer either, but I did try this ivory blouse, which fits very similar to the one you tried on.
ReplyDeleteIdk what happened. but this one should work! If you would, can you help & please repost? Pretty please.

Love the rich hues.. such a pretty outfit. The blazer looks like it has nice detailing and perfect fit too!
ReplyDeleteThat floral blouse is very cute and I love it with that purple skirt. What a great color combo.
ReplyDeleteno... i'm such a grandma... I don't know how to use twitter. lol
ReplyDeleteYou look terrific in the floral blouse! I love how you paired it with the cardigan and purple skirt - so vibrant!!
ReplyDeleteNext time I wear it/dress it up, I should take a picture I guess :) It's much more blah on me though :P I tend to pair it with black.
I LOVE that blazer on you as I told you on Twitter, and I do hope sales start coming soon!
Wait, was this the floral top that you were going to wear in the last PFC? I'm probably confusing myself, but I'm really digging the color combination of this outfit.
ReplyDeleteAll of your fitting room reviews have been SO HARD TO RESIST lately. Ahhh, and I'm on a ban!
Great reviews and I love the bold colors in your outfit! =)
ReplyDeleteI notice that the arm holes are a little wide on you, does that ever bother you in the office, or do you just not take off your cardigan?

I love that first pic! Very colorful combination! I have that exact top, and I got it because I love wearing red and other warm-toned colors. I bought another similar top from Loft that has a pink watercolor/Impressionist painting pattern on it. And to answer your question... YES. I love wearing bright colors in the winter to dispel the cold weather blahs. It's so easy to wear a lot of black/gray/brown, but it can be a downer.
ReplyDeleteWow! That blazer looks great - love the back detailing! Your colorful outfit is so cheerful, yet still professional!

Love all of these colors together, definitely with the cardigan!! And the blazer looks perfect on you - like it was cut for your body! Hope you're having a good week Jean! <3
ReplyDeleteI love your pairings for the floral top!
ReplyDeleteI do like the look of the button-down...the other color does sound better!
I am about to pick out some work outfits now...will have to do something bright! :)
<3 the purple! Fav color!
ReplyDeleteAh, I'd love to win these goodies. Just in time for the primping event that is, Valentine's Day. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you styled this blouse. The color goes well with the deep purple skirt. I still can't believe how well the vintage skirt fits you. The LOFT blazer is really cute. It's something that I can see myself wearing as well. I also like the button-up blouse. It's so hard for petites to find a blouse that fits. I definitely will keep my eyes out for this blouse.
ReplyDeleteYou really have an eye for fashion! I love getting ideas from how you put them together - though most of your outfits would not look nearly as good on me! Question - is there a forum out there where people can trade clothes? If not, might be worthwhile to start one as many clothes that I've "outgrown" (aka, gotten too big for) would likely look GREAT on you!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors you put together! You look so fab and stylish. I've been trying to shop at Loft and Ann Taylor since I started reading your blog, but I can't find anything that looks my age (22). Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough, b/c you always seem to find such pretty tops and high waisted skirts that don't make you look short... I'm sure all your readers want to go shopping with you haha. Also, love that neutral blazer, it looks PERFECT on you (like it was custom made, the fit is dead on)!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! So stylish!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. Very cheerful!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these colors together! And you wear that pattern well!
ReplyDeleteI really love that blouse with the skirt! The colors are so pretty together.
ReplyDeleteAs for the LOFT items, I really like the blazer on you. It fits almost perfectly and the color is great and will go with everything. It's a great alternative to black or navy. It's too bad that the pink blouse didn't fit well because it looks like it could have been cute but maybe in white or cream instead.
xo Liza
I have this same cut blouse in a different color from Loft in my 30for30 remix pieces. I will definitely wear it soon & post about it :)

I love that camel jacket! But what color would you wear camel with? Also, I think the pink shirt looks great on you. How come you're so anti-pink?
ReplyDelete@grace You definitely should! We should start a thread in the item reviews ... since so many of us have this top.
ReplyDelete@PetiteXXS Oo yes I saw that too. Looks very similar in fit and cut to this long sleeved blouse. Did it fit you?
@Cee hehe, no that one was a TOpshop floral shirt, but this one works better! Thank you and good luck on your ban : )
@Justine Yes the holes are bigger so I had to layer a fitted tank underneath.
@Erica Another happy owner of this pretty top! I didn't even notice the warm orangy-brown shade until I got home, and I love it. i want to find a nail polish in the same burnt-sienna ish color!
@Shopaholic on a Fast yes there definitely is! It's the Alterations Needed forum at forum.alterationsneeded.com - sign up for a username and go to the "marketplace" thread!
@itzLina Thank you so much Lina! I understand your struggles to look professional but still youthful. I have to admit I do not find many things I'm happy with right off the rack at AT or LOFT, as it's often hit or miss. All my ann taylor skirts are altered (taken in at the waist and sides so they will be higher-waisted and less frumpy). LOFT blouses like this one also tend to be generously cut.
ReplyDelete@fashionforteens yes the color is a great alternative! I already have a blazer in tan but it's not camel...so not as warm toned as this. I love this shade.
@petite-ish Haha, I didn't mean to sound so anti pink : ) I just didn't love this bubblegum shade, especially since I first saw the dusty lavender shade. With the camel color...oh man...your possibilities are endless! The classic pairings are navy or crisp white, you can do brights, patterns, stripes, florals, pretty much any color that comes to my mine will create a nice pairing with camel : )
Ooh I really love that purple AT skirt - it's such a beautiful, rich color! You have me awfully curious about the dusty lavender color now at LOFT - it sounds gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous outfit....great color pairings!
ReplyDeleteooh! I just bought this floral top last week too! I haven't had a chance to wear it or blog it yet though. You look absolutely fantastic. Great job pairing!
ReplyDeleteLorispeak
Thanks for the $5 off coupon tip! I had no I could double up with Ebates too. I was a bit nervous when I was trying to shop, but it all worked out in the end :) I love you more and more each day!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea* haha I got too excited to tell you.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I am so in love with that blazer. I LOVE the back! Its the small details that totally make a piece!
ReplyDeleteLove love the blazer!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that first pic! Awesome outift! I love the bright colors you put together! Have always admired your style :) Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe front pockets on the scuba jacket looks horrible. They don't lie flush with the jacket.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit! Kinda reminds me of a 70's outfit with a modern twist! The cropped blazer is adorable! I need to get out to Ann Taylor & LOFT more!
