J.Crew 30% off sale picks for petites

This morning I woke up to a decent J.Crew sale announced on my favorite sales & deals site SeeChloeShop. The deal: get 25% off your entire order of $150+, or 30% off your order of $250+ plus free shipping with code GIFTS. Works on both sale and regular items! Since my last Ann Taylor order was a big fail (skirts were too big, shoes were too glittery) I decided to treat myself to a little shopping before work. What I got:

1. Petite Double Cloth Lady Day Coat in 0P was $298 $126 after discounts. Not bad for a coat! Only three colors are this price which is fine for me, as olive was one of my favorite color options.

2. Cascading Flutter Shell in XXS regular was $40 $21 after discounts -six colors to choose from.

I then got a sweater for the bf to meet the $250 minimum. Below are some items that I hemmed and hawed over but decided to pass on for myself:

1. Darla Ruffle Cami was $88 now just $21 in regular sz 0, comes in four pretty shades. This is a great deal for silk crepe de chine but since it is regular sizing, it will probably need the straps shortened and possibly sides taken in for petites. I had this in my cart til the last minute after remembering I don't have my sewing machine anymore.

2. Wool Bell Skirt in 00 regular as seen on AlterationsNeeded. The light gray, or heather aluminum color is on sale for just $35 and the charcoal and black are on sale for $49 from $80. If you don't see the color you want, check in the sale section as they may have broken it out into a separate item.

Readers - did you shop this sale?

i was actually thinking about getting the wool bell skirt the other day too (especially after seeing how great it looked on Kelly), but alas i've spent too much money on Black Friday so i'm in money-save mode again. :)

can't wait to see these items on you!

  6. oh man, I knew the title of this post is trouble...I have been furiously browsing J. Crew for like half an hour since I first read this post. Someone stop this insanity - I don't need that coat or the cute cami. Thanks for the heads up though, you always find the cutest things.

  12. I went a little crazy after seeing the sale. I'm starting a new job next week and have no work clothes AT ALL since I'm used to wearing jeans and t-shirts. I think I bought over 10 cardigans, multiple darla ruffle camis, multiple cascading flutter shells, that amazing serge skirt in ochre and dahlia and some pants. I'm addicted!!!!

  18. Just now had a chance to check e-mails! I'll have to check this sale out for sure. I do like your picks. I think the olive coat is going to be such a great neutral.

  19. OMG...I am so close to pushing the buy button on that coat...yes, in the green. Doesn't help that SoCal has been unseasonable cold this year.

  20. Great choice. I had a spiced wine lady coat off ebay after I sold my black lady day from 2008. I found 2008 version smaller than 2009 version, not sure about their 2010 version. Cant wait for your review.

  21. This post totally motivated me to go buy that coat!! I got the thinsulate for warmth. I typically only buy things on supersale but JCREW seriously makes the best jackets. Especially for petites - I totally struck out on the LOFT jackets as they run too big in the shoulder/bust.

I wish they still carried petites in store - I used to work there in college when they had petites and it was awesome. Now it really is a pain to have to order online especially with the prevalence of final sale.

I also suggest the following belt- with the promotion it comes down to $10 and I can actually wear it at my waist - I am a 00p/0p.

This is the link - they had a ton in store and I bought a small in the black and toffee color.

  22. Thanks guys!

@Anonymous That is a really cute belt, and quite affordable too. I wish I saw it before placing my order! Didn't see any while I was in-store. I also decided to get the thinsulate..small additional price to pay for more warmth!

@Anonymous It's unfortunate the sizing seems to creep a little bigger each year! Fingers crossed for decent fit on the 2010 coats.

@Alterations Needed Lol, I've never brought a real coat to Socal but looks like I'll be bringing this one! All my other ones have got to be too heavy for SD winters.

@ichimunki Wow, that is quite the spree! I hope all of it fits, I love J.Crew style an colors but not the alterations bill : )

@Annapurna Not the best deal like you got with your strategic end-of-season shopping, but it'll do : ) And I did make sure to get the thinsulate for our brisk winters.

@R.L. Nice nice! Olive too? Please come back and let me know how it works out for you : )

@PetiteXXS Must spread the vicious cycle of shopping lol. Maybe we will have matching coats for the meetup.
