Dress: Banana Republic 00P
Belt: H&M sz XS Necklace: J.Crew
Pumps: thrifted - Marc Fisher sz 6
Here I am trying it on with a different set of accessories. Belt - F21, necklace - thrifted. I have come to love poking around thrift stores for vintage jewelry. This heavy gold-toned necklace was just $4.99 and I almost paid many times that for a similar version at Ann Taylor or BR. I came home and washed it thoroughly w/ rubbing alcohol : )
Wearing: $1 ELF falsies from this post and Revlon Matte lipstick in pink pout. Kind of a milky pink...a bit drying.I hope everyone had or is having a wonderful weekend. Any great Labor day weekend purchases? Please share : )

What a lovely color! I sent in my entry too. I will share it this week. I went to the outlet today but it was disappointed. I didn't find anything that worth spending the money for. This weekend goes fast! Thank God we have one more day at home.
ReplyDeleteLove this dress, especially the color! You look really pretty.
ReplyDeleteCute! You look great in aqua. I especially like the look with the wider belt. I feel like it balances out the dress nicely.
ReplyDeleteLove, LOVE this color! Such a great dress for the end of the summer:) You look great! The necklace is such an awesome find. Hope ure enjoying the 3 day weekend!

Lol about the rubbing alcohol... I think I would too! :P Yeah unfortunately my closet is devoid of anything that could be considered 'vibrant', so I had to pass on the contest. Can't wait to see the other vibrant items you hinted at :)
ReplyDeleteyou look great in bright colours, jean! :D my bf says you look much taller than you actually are :)
ReplyDeleteI barely have any vibrant colors! Trying to change that and love the aqua color on you :)
ReplyDeleteGreat colour! That's a perfect summer look. I have a few vibrant pieces but they always get paired with neutrals.
ReplyDeletePretty color..looks great against your skin.
ReplyDeleteNice color! I like both the belts!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHm rarely seen you in such bright color but I LOVE it! Bright colors actually suit you really well, my dear! the necklace you bought from a thrift store is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is one of my favorite clothing colors! :p It looks great on you.. the belt is great as well. I really like this outfit!! What a wonderful find @ the thrift stores! $4.99 for a necklace is great :D
ReplyDeleteLove the skinny brown belt against the vibrant dress, you look so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! You can wear strong color and not look washed out (as I tend to...).
ReplyDeleteI had some good luck at LOFT today... even found the loop halter - in my size - though it's been taken off the website. I'm guessing it was a return.
That's my favorite shade of blue! When did you buy this dress? I wish I had one too.
ReplyDeletesuper cute color on you and i do love that shade of blue too. i like how you matched the belt color with your shoes! i think i am liking the thicker belt...gives a better contrast...
ReplyDeleteYou look sooo good in this colour Jean and that necklace is gorgeous! I always see you in neutrals but you should definitely wear more bright colours because you look gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to thank you for the sweet comment you left a while ago about my being excited about double digit comments before and where I am now. It is so thoughtful of you to remember a small detail like that and really goes to show how much you really care about your relationships with your readers! You are so awesome, girl!
Hope you're having a great long weekend!
Jen
Jean! I love your entry for the contest. This color is actually fabulous on you. I think you should wear more bright colors, it compliments your bright smile. :) I hope you're enjoying your three day weekend. I'll actually be in the office tomorrow. Yay. ha ha.
ReplyDeletexx Love & Aloha
Lovely! You manage to look chic and comfy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI splurged this weekend on this:
http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=53&pageId=1&productId=570006447&viewAll=&prd=RosePrint+Sheath+Dress&subCatId=&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=1&catId=cat210002&cat=Dresses++Skirts&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=4&size=
It was $168 and way expensive (for me!)just couldn't resist - the OOP fit me like a glove (especially since pregnancy has made the "girls" more prominent). I will of course keep the receipt, stalk the sales, etc. but I actually can live with it at this price.
As for fit notes, I am 5-2, 97 pounds, and normally a 32B but am creeping into a 32D as I am 3 mos. pregnant. The dress is a tiny bit loose in the bust but fits my shoulders, waist, & hips perfectly. The length is perfect too - hits at my sweet spot at the knee. I normally do not wear 00P (I usually wear 0 at GAP and BR and occassionally an 00P at AT) so I am guessing this brand runs large.
I really like this dress and the second belt is very summery!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is SOOOO pretty on you. I didn't know about this contest, otherwise I would've entered with my new red dress. Haha. I still can't over your Marc Fisher pumps. Completely breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour on you!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have the same dress, but in pink.
oh, love the dress and the color pattern you put together! Somehow I'm not so impressed with BR this summer's style. I wish it would carry more pieces like this, simple but absolutely gordeous!
ReplyDeletethat color is gorgeous on you! i love thrifted stuff too, sometimes more so than the non-thrifted stuff! i think i just feel less guilty :P great dress!
ReplyDeleteI love this combo on you! It is simple yet so chic - oh so effortless!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely vibrant! Hope you win! I love turquoise/aquas paired with camel, such a nice combo!
ReplyDeletei love love this color on you! actually i love anything Turquoise! if this is for a contest..hope u win!
ReplyDeleteI love how well the belt and shoes match. Such a rich camel color! I can't believe those shoes were thrifted... they look so new!
ReplyDeleteI was looking back at your outfits from winter and simply cannot wait to see what you and the other petite bloggers will post for the colder seasons. I am sucker for all things pea coats and tights!! I follow you on Twitter and can't believe you want to move to California. I grew up near the West coast and never experienced fall and winter until moving to the South. I actually want to move to Boston once I'm done with school so I can rock a plaid Burberry coat like yours and for other legitimate reasons as well ;)
Thank you ladies for your comments!
ReplyDeletethoshebebutlittle - wow, lucky you! I love that top, and I bet it was quite cheap too with the 40% off this weekend.
love.blue - unfortunately this is an old fine...a year or two ago? I haven't seen anything there lately that's caught my eye, sadly.
Annapurna - what a beautiful, vibrant, dress! And I had no idea you were pregnant...congrats!! How very exciting. Btw, they frequently have online codes for 15% off or more. Did you google for coupon codes?
Vicky - hehe, thank you! I love the pumps too and they hardly had a scratch on them. To answer your question from a while back, these fit in sz 6 because they have adjustable ankle straps. I have another pair of Marc Fisher shoes from Macy's with adjustable straps and I like them very much.
Mix and Match - I totally agree, they are falling behind Ann Taylor and LOFT. I have so many pieces from their past collections but NADA so far this year!
RL - lol, the grass is always greener eh : ) I could definitely do away with seasons, but I suppose I wouldn't mind a "mildly cool" Fall or Winter. I do adore coats but I think part of the reason is because I turned to coats to cope during the bitter cold winter. I think winters in the south are perfect...cool enough to wear coats, but never bitterly freezing.
Lovely color, just started following
