Fall Shoe Order from the Targ

Some say that ankle booties are not for the workplace, but I find that plain black ones look sufficiently professional (especially when worn over black tights). With Target's sale this week, I ordered 2 pairs to try on plus some mary-janes that are a re-run from last Fall (see my post from November 2009):

1. Merona Musetta Ruffled Bootie, $20 (faux-suede) comes in 3 colors, sz 5.5
2.  Merona Reta T-Strap Pumps, $26.40 (real suede) comes in 4 colors. My size sold out in these last year, so I'm ordering early this time around.
3. Mossimo Karensa Shoe Bootie, $24 (real suede) sz 5.5

Online-only deals:
- take 20% off any clothing or shoe purchase over $75, no code needed (ends Saturday)
- take $5 off your order of $50 or more and free ship (click here for the coupon)
- 3% cashback via ebates

These were sold out all summer but I guess they decided to bring 'em back right when summer is over. These are very highly reviewed in both colors so I stalked these waiting for a re-stock.

From my experience, the quality of Target shoes may be hit or miss. Sizing as well - I had to size up to a 6 once in Merona, so I'm worried that a 5.5 in booties may be too small (esp. with socks). Hopefully at least one of the above pairs will be keepers!

PS - one item that I forgot to order with the 20% off is this juniors lace cardigan in Cafe Latte. Yes, it looks repulsive on the Target model, but when Gigi's Gone Shopping modeled it and pointed out how close it was to the Rodarte for Target cardigan (which I adore on Chloe here and here), I saw the potential. Maybe no one else will see the potential and I'll snag it at the end of the season on clearance : )

  1. Those black gladiators are really really nice! I'd buy them for myself if I had the money. yeah, Target shoes are kind of hit and miss with sizing... women's sizes are a big large for me and it's hard to find really nice heels in the kids section. (naturally)

  2. My favorite is Mossimo Karensa Shoe Bootie.Do you know if 20% applies for online only? Does Target usually have these shoes in stores? I do not have any experiences with Target's shoes. Thanks for the codes. You did great as always :)

  4. Petite LG - I'm pretty sure it's online only. The $5 off $50 is always there so when I see stuff in stores I like I usually hold out and order online.

Abby - aww, yea it's def hard to find heels in the girls department but I've had some luck with flats and sandals.

  5. I've been eying the gladiator heels (tan/brown) from Baker's Shoes over Summer! These are similar and much cheaper but... I prefer to see them in person to see if I like it, the quality, and how comfortable it is.

  6. Looking forward to seeing the T-strap ones! Whenever we are in the states we pronouced Target as "tarjay" with a French accent LOL!

  7. OMG Jean. This is getting ridiculous. I just ordered #2 and #3 with another T-strap in red. Totally a coincidence? or is this community getting way too sync'ed up to a point of creepiness?

  8. Curls n Pearls - I had to change it lol. The bf and I pronounce it just the way I spelt it but I realize that it may be construed as offensive!

xoladiihoneyxo - I will report back on the quality : ) I think those are online exclusives.

  9. Vicky - hehe, I think it's just us. I really hope these will be better than m ylast purchase...the Virginia pumps that you also have. The faux-leather on those are so stiff and uncomfy!

  10. Check out this ebay auction for an additional 10% off online orders at Target. I used it to purchase bookcases for our kids playroom and saved over $30. I have used it twice since on smaller orders. Not too bad for a $0.99 auction! http://cgi.ebay.com/Target-Coupon-15-off-Target-com-thats-10-5-/260661885667?pt=US_Gift_Certificates&hash=item3cb0a8bae3

  11. I love the Maryjanes you ordered. When I see your blog and your professional clothes it makes me miss dressing up for work, but in the end I know I'm doing what I love, but gosh how I love the way you dress and wish I could dress up for work too...lol!

  16. I have to say, I'm surprised these are Target! Normally their shoes are hit or miss for me...some I love, some I hate. But I LOVE these! Normally, I'm not a t-strap girl, but those gray ones are cute! I LOVE the booties.

Since I haven't bought any in a while, can you let us know how they fit once you get them? I'm a 5.5/6 in dress shoes normally. I can't remember what I wear there.

  17. Very cute! I think I'm on my feet too much at work to wear stilettos, but if I could get away with it - I totally would.

Hope they're all keepers (or, would that leave you with some tough choices to make...?)

  18. I love the t-strap heel. I have something very similar in a patent black but there is something about the gray color that just adds more warmth. The details are also really nice. I wonder if Target stores have these?

  23. Why is this named Tar-gay?! lol

I love ankle boots<3 The first one you have posted is really cute. About the cardigan - you're right..it looks HORRIBLE on the Target site, but the girls you linked to wore it well. :) The overall style of it seems really hard to rock.

  24. You are lucky you can fit into a size 5.5.....Target shoes run big on me.

Otherwise I would definitely get the suede pumps! Great picks!

  26. the red retas are on their way to me! i also ordered the suede pumps in purple and some versie pumps in nude and leopard print. love the booties and i'm tempted to give them a try. i should've bought the kat booties in black before they went OOS. imho, the lace cardi is a miss.. it looks sloppy and i'm not a fan of the ribbed cuffs.

  27. Hi, do you have any recommendations on where to buy small sized shoes? I notice that you're a 5-5.5. I'm a 4.5. =( doll feet, I know. I've been buying from Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack but would love more options, especially more affordable ones. I don't see that you've done an entry on this yet and would love to see one. Sorry if you already have and I've missed it.

  28. Anon - thansk for the link! I've def ordered coupons from ebay before.

SugarNikita - I will definitely report back. They should arrive tomorrow : )

Metta - I have high hopes for the retas. They look a little high though, hope it's walkable!

N - you should check out AlterationsNeeded and Jen of frmheadtotoe if you haven't already...they both have tiny feet (4's or 5's) and they have bougth shoes from Cinderella of Boston and Pretty Small Shoes. I think PSS is a little pricey but I know Jen has been very happy with her purchases.
