Target Designer Preview on Gilt.com

Saw this in my email this morning and thought it was interesting...
I'd like to see what they have for the Mulberry collection. I sure hope they use real leather, otherwise it wouldn't really do the designs any justice. If you don't already have a Gilt account, click here for an invite.

In other news, please stop by Petite Early Morning Style to welcome Callandra to the online petite community (you may remember her as a close runner-up in the work outfit contest). She describes herself as "curvy" so it's great to add some shape variety to our community. And if you haven't already, check out my blogroll page to see other petites who have started blogging recently.

  1. Surprised you blogged about Target. They are one of the least petite-friendly retailers out there IMO. I think they start at a size 2 and all of their stuff runs really big.

  2. Thesmallone - I actually like target for their juniors (XS fits small) - my favorite maxi dress is from there and was only $8. Plus their shoes start at 5 or 5.5 (my favorite summer sandals are from there which I wear almost every day)and those were just $20. Womens clothing though - I've never ventured there and have no desire to, even though they do have a petites line. The petites line probably works on women who are maybe two sizes up for me, I've just never tried.

  3. Thanks for sharing, I am not the biggest Target fan but I think I'll be checking it even if it's just to browse.

And thanks for the link to Callandra's blog, I have found really good reads from your blogroll. :)

  4. i always find it hard to look for certain sizes in stores and glad i bumped into ur site. i run a beauty blog but always like to read fashion blogs when i get a chance. I'm 5'1 and wear xs in br and jcrew type stores and depending on certain tops xxs. I wear 5.5 in shoes and find those are the hardest for me to find in stores so I always online-shop for those.

i love target but when it comes to their designer line, designers do not use leather in their bags. it's like Polyurethane material which is a bit disappointing. i remember getting very excited over botkier bags that came out but the material of them were not up-to-par so a def waste.

anyways, when you get some time, stop on by my blog and check it out. =) ~melanie

  5. Callandra is so cute! It's good to find another tiny/curvy petite. I think we have the same curves measurements, I'm just 2 inches shorter!

  7. I used to wander in junior section at Target too but not lately. Their petite lines are so big. I even tried some of their maternity clothes but no luck.

  9. Interesting that I'm a GILT member but I didn't get this email.

I think the real Mulberry line was on Ruelala or Hautelook the other day.

  11. I'm with you...I'm interested to see what they pull out for Mulberry. It's kinda scary if it's not leather, no?

  12. I'm definitely curious about their designs, though I'm not expecting leather. Even when JPG/Zac Posen did their lines for Target with leather jackets, it was some plastic/pleather type material.

But maybe the design will overcome it's lower end material. =)

  14. (and while I do tend to favor leather handbags, I love traveling with Target's 'designer' bags, especially if I'm somewhere messy like the beach. They work perfectly and are still cute, mmhm.)

  19. I can't wait to see Mulberry for Target... and I almost forgot that Gilt will be featuring it this Friday. Thanks for the reminder. :) However, I think I'm at a disadvantage because of the time difference. Hopefully the pieces will be amazing and there will still be some left for me!!!

    xx Love & Aloha

  20. I checked in today and Mulberry's collection uses patent leather!

  21. Aubrey - I saw that too in the "info" section on Gilt. It's just so shiny though...I need to see it with my own eyes in-store to believe it!

  22. $35 for a patent leather satchel, that's too good to be true, even for no name brand bag. Something is definitely not adding up. Either they use real cheap recycled, bonded, whatever name you want to use, leather, or they are just not leather. Definitely going to Target to check it out when it comes out in Sept.

I'm giving out a Betsey Johnson bracelet. Don't forget to enter.
