Petite Lookbook: Cropped Jacket & Cuffed Shorts

Being so petite, I feel like I can push the limits with hemlines without crossing into trashy land. Two of my favorite wardrobe pieces are the cropped jacket and short shorts. These high-waisted shorts have become one of my favorite things from H&M, for only $25. They weren't short enough to my liking, so I even had my tailors widen the cuff and bring up the length for $15.

I always refrained from doing the shorts with tights thing, thinking it would be too trendy for me. Once I tried it, though, I fell in love! And now that I'm finally comfortable with the look, winter is about to be over...bummer!

Bag: Chanel Petite Shopping Tote

I don't usually show purses with my outfits because I have a small collection (maybe 4 bags total?) and I usually just tote around my big Longchamp. I'm picky when it comes to purses and have been hunting deliberately for 2 specific ones (Marc Jacobs "The Kid" mini stam from '07 and Chanel small or medium flap with silver HW). One day...one day.

  13. Hi! Stumbled upon ur blog and am so glad i did. Im just as tiny and most of the time i always worry about "lifting" the hemlines but in reality ur rite it's appropriately proportionate to our petite figure.

  14. This looks great on you! I love wearing shorts & tights together. Forever 21 shorts in size XS always run big on me, so majority of my shorts are from abercrombie kids and I have 1 pair of shorts from H&M kids. Those Bebe shorts are nice... but $79!! crazy...

    Peachcharm - I do love AF kids shorts. But H&M divided size 2 runs pretty darn small now. These are tight on me in 2...but a 4 is too loose.

  21. thanks for the comment; and i agree; I actually think the dress I made out of the curtain looks a lot more wearable without the sash and featherss.. but since it's for my school's fashion show, I thought I'd make a bit more funky haha. Maybe i'll make another one out of the remainder of the curtain/ table cloth material ;)

  28. so glad you decided to try the shorts and tights thing, that's all I've been wearing for the past few months! and it looks great on you! being a fellow petite, I totally do that same with pushing hemlines, we can pull of some of the shortest micro minis without making it look like we're working a street corner lol. that's always been a plus for me because the shorter hemline gives the illusion of longer legs and us petites can always use that. love the fashionista pose in that last pic btw, great outfit!

  31. try looking on ebay for those bags that you want. my husband found a coach bag from years past that i had wanted on there. you may have to check back a few times until someone posts what you want, but it is worth it!
