In the end I left with just 1 item, because it turns out that this brand is a bit overpriced. $60 for a skirt that looks akin to F21? $40 for a tank top? They do offer a 10% student discount, though, which I shamelessly used despite being not quite in school.
Me trying to look rocker chic and sultry:
Tank: Forever 21 sz S
Jacket: TopShop Petites sz 0 (similar here)
Jeans: H&M kids skinnies sz 11/12 (similar here in 00 w/ multiple lengths)
Shoes: Calvin Klein ankle booties (similar here)
Some picks available in size 0 that I'm seriously contemplating. That lace-trimmed skirt...want.
I've been looking for a light grey cropped leather jacket for ages. Grey is such a transitional color. It can take a leather jacket from season to season, whereas I think black is too harsh for the Spring / Summer. Here's a pic from one of my first posts back in October 2009:
I fell in love with this Burberry kids leather jacket, but at $695 it was out of the question for a little cropped piece of clothing. I stalked it online until it was sold out, without ever going on sale! Darn those trust fund kids.
As soon as I saw the TopShop one on the rack, I knew that it would fill the void in my closet / heart. It was a very decent and buttery faux-leather, so I could be "animal friendly" while spending less $$. And a petite 0 fit perfectly...possibly even a little snug for a jacket. It's so exciting to discover new brands that offer tiny sizing!
That's it for now. I'm so thrilled to be back in Boston for a week to just unwind, shop, and cook. Mayyybe a little studying if swaptions don't put me straight to sleep. Have a great weekend, dear readers!

You always have the cutest clothes! Your hair looks great here... I love all the volume!
ReplyDeleteI need to lose 30 pounds so I can borrow all your clothes. LOL!
you hair does look fab here! hot sexy volumnized hair ;) and you don't need to try to look rocker chic and sultry, you're rockin' the look girl! xx
ReplyDeletei love the zippers! you look great and make us petite girls proud :)
ReplyDeleteOh TopShop...why no West Coast stores yet? I'm waaaaaiting.....
ReplyDeleteThe jacket fits great! I'm impressed with TopShop petites so far.=)
I'm hoping to stop by TopShop when I go to NYC next, but it's more likely that I'll be going when I hit LONDON in September!!!
ReplyDeletethat jacket is an awesome find and it fits you perfectly! you definitely are sultry rocker chic ;) it's good to know TopShop has petite sizes too, I had no idea until I read your post!
ReplyDeleteYou look *amazing!! I love Topshop in spite of their slightly high-for-the-quality prices, and find myself constantly oogling stuff from them online. I'm glad to hear that the petites work well from there, since I haven't tried them yet!
ReplyDeleteHOW LOVELY! :D girl i'ma size 0 too! sometimes it can get challenging finding clothes, but everything you posted looks pretty! :D
ReplyDeleteI love this look! That jacket is absolutely perfect, and yeah, your hair looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies : ) CynthiaC - I bet topshop in London is awesome!! Definitely hunt down the Petites section though asap ... I almost lost my mind sifting through the first 3 floors.
ReplyDeleteKateGene/Tessatham/Ashley - lol! Thanks, that's so ... encouraging. This is bedhead in the truest sense w/ no tools or products. Some days it's "voluminous" and some days it looks like 2 birds mated and nested on my head.
Holy cow I'm glad I found your blog! I'm 5'2" and 95lbs and it's SO hard to find clothes in the states!!!
ReplyDeleteoh god i love topshop petites. i ordered three jackets/coats from them last year and omg awesome. i find that a lot of stuff from petite lines are still too big/long for me but the topshop petite 0 is freaking perfect verging on too small (!)
ReplyDeleteLOVE
also, how did you get your hair to be so bodaciously voluminous? i like it!
Wow, I love that jacket, hun. Looks great on you! Wicked style =)
ReplyDeleteKim
i love your outfit<3 especially the jacket!
ReplyDeleteI kept hearing good things about topshop petites, but I never saw anything that popped out at me online. That jacket is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I can finally relate to someone that is almost the same proportions as I am. Gorgeous and lovely, by the way<3
ReplyDeleteMiss. P

I came across your blog today and fell in love with it. I'm also a tiny petite and I do alterations for most of my purchases, especially skirts/pants. What you have shared with us on petite-friendly brands/styles are really helpful. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, despite all the alterations I have done to make my clothes fit, I'm still having a hard time finding tiny petite-fitted belts. Do you have any recommendations?
Gorgeous, as always!
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket! very rocker chic :)
& I must agree with those above, your hair looks very voluminous & healthy.
xx.

Thanks girls! You guys are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteIvy - That question always comes up! I've only had luck so far at 2 places - Banana Republic size XXS belts (available online but sell out quickly) and H&M size XS. Sometimes the XS is too tight on me!
Also, if you haven't yet, be sure to check out a forum created by a fellow petite blogger (forum.alterationsneeded.com) - there is a thread specifically about tiny belts. Hope this helped!
Hey girl, this is my fist time visiting your blog. I took a thorough look through, your taste in clothing is fantastic! You are true to your blog name too, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I commented this post.... weird. I love this! it's casual but still hott <3
ReplyDeleteoooo! I just found your website. Also a petite Asian chick (5'1.5", 100 lbs). Your clothes are fabulous! I can't be bothered to buy clothes anymore because it's simply too depressing. I work for a nonprofit with no straight men in sight so just jeans and shirts for me. The bright side is that I save a lot of money. However, I get super depressed looking at all the pretty clothes! Does anyone else have a problem with wide feet? My feet are size 6 but wide which I hear is a common Asian foot thing since we take off our shoes at home. Shoes never seem to be comfortable except the shoes/sandals I get in Asia. I'm scheduled to go to Bangkok at the end of March so I'm determined to pick up loads of bras and shoes.
ReplyDeletewah love your jacket! it is a great piece!
ReplyDeleteby the way have just followed your blog
mine to follow mine back?
xoxo
Oh I love that Topshop has a petite section - amazing since it also means more smaller sizes! :) I spent almost 2 hours in there when I went haha that jacket is fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! I'm checking out the forum right now and will definitely try BR and H&M for the belts!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Wow, woman, you look so great here!!! I love ankle boots, I own a pair and choose them over most of my heels! I hope you got the studying done!
ReplyDeleteI need to have a coat like that in my wardrobe :D
love this look, especially ur topshop moto jacket!! i totally agree, gray is such a great transitional color. i had no idea topshop had a petite section! i've never purchased anything from their site, but after seeing great pieces on bloggers (and u:)), i might just make the jump! lol love ur hair here, btw!
ReplyDeleteTheOwlsCloset.blogspot.com
this outfit looks great! i'm gna go try some kids jeans at h&m, but i usually find that kids pants don't have the stretch or curves that i need :/
ReplyDeletei stumbled onto your site and i immediately fell in love. i'm the same size as you and i have no fashion sense because its just too hard to find stuff that fits, but you make it easier. you also find things that are affordable and still looks great. as a petite young adult, it's so hard to find clothes to dress the part and you make it possible
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool idea. Kid size jeans! :)

come check out my giveaway!
OMG, your leather jacket is fantastic. I am petite 5'2" and I find it very difficult for me to get a leather jacket.
ReplyDeleteWould you please advise me the length of the Centre back and the sleeves?
Would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! =))
Not sure if you buy at Old Navy, but before I remember that jeans never fit me there, and I just went last night and got a corduroy skinny (rock star) in petite o (some return, because you can get them only online), and it fits like a charm, the colors are super cute, and they just reduced the price to @19.00
